Hey guys, every time I switch to use my Axe Fx II XL as my playback engine (soundcard) in Pro Tools 12, it seems to freeze pro tools (not responding then I have to crash it). I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Pro Tools 12.4. Simple delay protools 12.4 free drivers#I also have a Focusrite 2i4 USB 2.0 interface & drivers connected, but problem seems to happen even if I have it "disabled" in device manager. MAKE PROTOOLS 12 WORK WITH ASIO4ALL DRIVERS Simple delay protools 12.4 free driver#I have both the 2i4 and Axe disabled in windows playback devices to avoid any driver conflicts w/ windows & protools.īoth 2i4 and Axe Fx being used 48k Pro Tools session.īasically, I'm just getting into recording a DI/dry track along with my distortion track, so I can start recording guitars for my band, and re-amp later. MAKE PROTOOLS 12 WORK WITH ASIO4ALL DRIVER PCusing Pro Tools, the industry-standard audio production platform. This also means I'm getting into re-amping, but this is where I'm running into problems, because I'm currently using the 2i4 to record wet + dry/DI, then trying to switch to the Axe Fx as soundcard. Design the perfect setup for your needs with a wide array of Pro Tools solutionsfrom hardware interfaces and consoles to software, plug-ins, and more. This is a great little free delay which works really well and sounds fantastic. Then to re-amp I try to switch to Axe Fx as soundcard but Pro Tools just freezes every time. Tape Delay is a very simple and easy to use delay effect which creates the typical tape delay sound. Is it possible to re-amp while using the Focusrite 2i4 as soundcard, with the same quality? I am switching to the Axe to re-amp because I don't know if there are ways to do it using the 2i4 interface. Why does my pro tools always freeze when I try to use my Axe as a soundcard? What am I doing wrong? I took my laptop on holiday and didnt want to lug around a sound card or keyboard. I decided to give ASIO4All a go and VMkeyboard (a virtual keyboard- not bad by the way). To cut to the chase, my ZoneAlarm Security Suite detects ASIO4All as a virus. On a side note: While recording wet+dry, are there any advantages/disadvantages to using the Axe Fx II instead of going through my 2i4 interface? Also, while recording wet+dry, is there anyway to mute the dry track? I like using direct monitoring so there's no delay, so I guess not? I tried turning direct monitoring off and using the lowest (32) latency, but I still got laggy off-sync stuff going on while recording the 2 tracks at once.
